FREE CAR SEAT SAFETY CHECK TO BE HELD
The Robert Packer Hospital Regional Trauma Center
has teamed up with Greater Valley Emergency Medical Services to provide a FREE
Car Seat Safety Check.
The special FREE community event will be held on Saturday, September 12th
from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Greater Valley EMS, 904 North Lehigh Ave, Sayre, Pa.
Car Seat Safety Technicians will be on hand to educate parents on the proper and
safe use of their individual car seats. GVEMS volunteers will also be
available to entertain children with activities and prizes while their parents
take part in the program. No appointments are necessary, but the check will
last about twenty minutes and participants are asked to bring their operating
manuals from both their car seats and their automobiles.
Motor vehicle crashes remain the single leading cause of death among children and young adults from 3 to 21 years of age. Correctly buckling up in a child safety seat, booster seat, or seat belt is the single most effective way to protect motor vehicle occupants and to reduce fatalities in a crash. Participants in the program will learn about PA Law and information on the correct selection, use, and installation of occupant protection systems for all passengers in the vehicle.
For more information regarding this program, please call Sonya Bement, Outreach Supervisor at GVEMS.
